- MHSA rules will be used unless otherwise noted below.
- No player may be added to the roster after the team has played their first game in the tournament.
- Each team member is required to have uniforms/shirts with visible and unique numbers on them.
- Women-sized basketballs (28.5”) will be used in the 6th-grade boys & girls divisions. A men-sized ball (29.5”) will be used in the 7th & 8th boys divisions.
- Game ball not provided. Officials and coaches will agree on a game ball before each game.
- 1 Parent from each team may be asked to run the scoreboard and book.
- Game time is forfeit time. You must start a game with 5 players.
- Maximum of three coaches per team on the bench. Only the ONE head coach may stand, ask questions of the referee, or instruct players on the court.
- Teams are allowed 5 timeouts per game: (2) 30-second timeouts and (3) 60-second timeouts. In overtime, each team will be allowed one (1) 60-second timeout. Unused timeouts from regulation are lost.
- Games will consist of (4) 8-minute quarters.
- Clocks are running and will stop in the last minute of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters and the last 2 minutes of the fourth quarter for violations, and free throws (if the score is within 15 points). The clock will also stop for the following:
- Time-outs
- Player injury
- Referee’s judgment
- Technical fouls
- Games will start at designated times. Warm-up time will be at least five (5) minutes. Halftime will be three (3) minutes.
- Pressing is allowed unless there is a 15-point differential.
- Substitutions on dead balls only.
- The first overtime consists of a 4-minute period. 2nd overtime in pool play is sudden death. In bracket play, it will be 2 minutes.
- Players are allowed five fouls.
- No trainer will be available. No locker rooms will be available.
- Standings will be based on the following tiebreaker rules:
- Record
- Head to Head
- Point Differential
- Points allowed
- Any individual acting in a manner that does not promote a safe environment for our children, families, staff, and fans will be asked to leave. This includes actions and/or accumulation of technical fouls from players, coaches, and parents. Please report unsportsmanlike conduct to tournament staff.
- Any coach or player receiving 2 technical fouls in a game must leave for the remainder of the tournament.
